Benchmark Gymnastics was founded by our Head Coach, Aisha Walters in 2009.  Aisha is a former British Champion at Master Class level in Sports Acrobatics and is fully qualified to coach four different disciplines of gymnastics: Pre-School, General Gymnastics, Team Gym and Sports Acrobatics. 

Aisha has been coaching for 20 years and has been appointed as a British Gymnastics Tutor by British Gymnastics.  As a result she now runs British Gymnastics Courses at Levels 1 , 2 and 3 and is an Assessor on behalf of British Gymnastics for those who wish to become qualified coaches as well as delivering courses for children aged between 11-14 who want to get involved in the sport.  

Aisha teaches gymnastics in a number of schools throughout London teaching over 1000 children every week and believes Gymnastics should be an all-inclusive sport, one that is a great foundation sport for many other sports.  

She is also First Aid trained and has completed a variety of complimentary courses including NSPCC’s Time to Listen, Equity in Sport, Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Basic cheerleading skills, Introductory to Judging (floor & vault), choreography modules and British Gymnastics’ Mentoring Course.

Aisha is supported by a team of highly experienced and enthusiastic coaches and staff at our sites in Shepherds Bush and Streatham.

All of our coaches are British Gymnastics qualified, DBS checked and have safeguarding qualifications.
